Pat Armstrong is a professor of sociology and of women's studies at York University in Toronto, Canada. She has an extensive number of publications on feminist theory and women's work, and more specifically on the gendered nature of care work and on the organisation of residential and home-based care services in for-profit and not-for-profit eldercare. In relation to the programme, she is leading the Canadian part of a Nordic-Canadian comparative project on care workers in residential care for elderly people.
