For international students we offer one master's course each term.

Exchange students attend the same course as master's students, but with a different curriculum and a different exam.

PhD-studies is only available for students who speak and write fluent Swedish, as all PhD-courses are given in Swedish only.

About the department

The Department of Social Work has been a part of Stockholm University since 1977. Before that it was a school or institute, founded in 1921. It was awarded academic status in 1964. The Department is now one of the largest at Stockholm University. It is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The Department of Social Work is housed in a functionalist building from 1936 located between the campus at Frescati and central Stockholm.
